Butcher Shop Press is an art-based initiative housed in a space at the back of an early 1900s era building in East Flat Rock, NC where a butcher shop once operated.

Through workshops, exhibitions, and open studio access, the studio aims to foster a vibrant printmaking community that honors the rich craft of print and the unique artistic voices of our region.

Join Butcher Shop Press Studio Printer Elena Hernandez-Rubio for a three-hour introduction to monotype printmaking. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create single-plate monotype prints using simple reductive techniques.

This 2 day workshop will explore the spontaneous and dynamic medium of monotype printmaking, a very user-friendly and immediate art-making process using Acrylic (Plexi) Plates, Watercolor and Water-soluble drawing materials.
