Butcher Shop Press is an art-based initiative housed in a space at the back of an early 1900s era building in East Flat Rock, NC where a butcher shop once operated.
Through workshops, exhibitions, and open studio access, the studio aims to foster a vibrant printmaking community that honors the rich craft of print and the unique artistic voices of our region.

Mark-Making and Monotypes: Intro to Trace Techniques

Join Butcher Shop Press Studio Printer Elena Hernandez-Rubio for a four-hour introduction to monotype printmaking. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will create single-plate monotype prints using simple reductive techniques.
In addition to the basics of reductive methods, you will learn the "trace" technique to transfer your own drawings, found images, and collages to your monotypes.
